Tamás Kvacsány: Report on the Khyentse Foundation Scholarship
I had the honor of having my application for the PhD Scholarship Program announced by the Khyentse Foundation in 2024 successfully accepted. The generous support I received significantly contributes to the continuation of my doctoral studies, allowing me to focus entirely on my passion: research.
The scholarship I applied for is granted for one-year period and provides a one-time financial award. Submitting a research project outline and a brief budget plan detailing the intended expenses is required. Personally, I plan to use the awarded funding for fieldwork and academic expenses.
I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to apply and for having earned their trust.
The Khyentse Foundation is a nonprofit organization established under the leadership of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche with the aim of preserving and spreading the wisdom of the Buddha worldwide. The foundation's activities include preserving, translating, and archiving Buddhist texts, supporting traditional Asian monastic universities, assisting the education of underprivileged children, and training Buddhist teachers. They also provide various scholarship programs and academic awards globally, while developing and supporting research centers at major universities such as the Department of Buddhist Studies and Tibetology at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE).
